Welcome
to ShannaHoward.com!
Currently the Webmaster for The Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), I am an alumni of the The University of Texas (Journalism 1999, Czech 2000), and completed coursework toward a master of arts. I spent a stint working as a freelance writer and Web editor in Prague, Czech Republic, after graduation. I've written for The Prague Post, Texas Music Magazine, The Austin-American Statesman, Experience Austin, Citysearch, and The Frisky, among others, as well as working as an editor and Web developer for various organizations.
In my spare time, you can find me out and about with my friends and my two rescue doggies (both former Blue Dogs) or relaxing on a patio around South Austin... Or if I'm really lucky, off traveling or SCUBA diving in Mexico, which I'd rather be doing at all given times.
Also, I am beginning to wonder if I am becoming an adrenaline junkie. In the last couple of years, I have been cave (cenote) diving, skydiving, and I just did my first sprint-distance triathlon in June 2008! Now I'm trying to figure out what's next...
You can find out more professional information below, as I am always looking for new, interesting opportunities and freelance projects.
Cheers,
